Eat & Drink

Restaurants in Ilkley… by personal recommendation! Mention our name, it always helps!

For the crème de la crème head for the Box Tree 01943 608 484, established in 1962, which offers top end dining with one Michelin star, and is run by Simon Gueller and his wife Rena. Marco Pierre White was once chef here, and has recently named the Box Tree as his "favourite restaurant in Britain" during a visit to the kitchen where he learnt his trade. It is nationally renowned and is housed in one of the oldest building in Ilkley, dating back to 1720. They have fixed priced lunch and dinner available at times too, so worth checking. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays for dinner, Fridays to Sundays for lunch.

The Farsyde - 01943 602 030 - Open Tue-Sat - booking essential
An upmarket well established place to eat, we love it. Gorgeous but pricey, and impossible to get in unless you book weeks in advance.

Martha & Vincent - 01943 602 444 - Open Tue-Sun
Voted best restaurant of 2007 in Yorkshire by The Yorkshire Post. On the pricey side. Again book to avoid disappointment.

Emporio Italia 01943 430 005 Closed on Tuesdays, open from 10 am. An easy going Italian café with tasty food, which turns into a sought after restaurant in the evening. It is run by our friend Luigi and his family. Eat there or just enjoy a true Italian coffee. Wonderful!

Bistro Saigon 01943 817 999 Open Tuesday to Sunday. Wholehearteadly recommended by previous guests if you like Vietnamese & Far Eastern cuisine.

The Wheatley Arms 01943 816 496 Open all week, Ben Rhydding's new gastro pub within walking distance to our B&B, a stroll downhill, a bit more demanding coming back! Smartly done up and with great food on offer.

Bart’at Pub -01943 608 888 - Open all week
Best place in Ilkley for its beers variety, and steady pub food.

The Cow and Calf Pub - 01943 607 335 - “Inn Keeping” Pub open all week
Family friendly, no booking required, and serves food all day long. Wonderful setting opposite the Cow & Calf landmark.

The Yard - 01943 609 606 - Open all week from 11:30 am
Ilkley’s trendy bar and restaurant

Also if you have a chance we recommend you visit Bettys, the world famous teashop in the centre of Ilkley, on the Grove. Just don’t go immediately after your breakfast here! For light bites or just a drink, head for the Red Pepper Deli in Ben Rhydding at the bottom of Ben Rhydding Drive. They do some lovely home baked soups, pies and cakes, and serve great sandwiches. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays.
